After many years of window units and outrageous quotes for central air installation in my 1440 sq ft twin home, I finally pulled the trigger and bought this system. Caveat: many contractors were reluctant to install a system I didn't buy from them but I finally found one that did the job. After 4 days, because he worked alone, it was finally installed. The idiot didn't turn the valve to release the refrigerant but after I found a contractor that solved that problem (2 weeks later), I am very pleased. The house is crispy cool upon my arrival due to the app. No complaints to date. Find yourself an HVAC dude that is more experienced, however. This refrigerant is the newest thing on the marked and many contractors I spoke to never dealt with it. Various sources I looked into stated the refrigerant will last for the life of the system (coupled with proper and regular system maintenance).
I installed the units in 2 of my 3 bedrooms. Along with an existing ceiling fan, the 18k btu main unit in my DR works wonders. I'm selling my house soon so that 3rd BR will be the buyer's problem.
This is written just after July 4. Its 80+ everyday so I haven't had a chance to use the heat.
The system is quiet and visually appealing. I haven't received my first electric bill but I frankly don't care, that's why we work, to be comfortable. Overall, I am pleased. You will notice in the pictures I used line set covers and spray painted them brick color to blend in and not stand out so much. I don't get paid to shout any brand of paint but I will say the best to use rhymes with "linoleum". It coats nicely, fewer coats are needed and just looks better. I tried a brand that rhymes with "ridden" and returned them next day. I also have a cage to cover the condenser but am in the process of painting it AND figuring out how to attach it to the wall and the bracket UNDER the condenser. The cover/cage is a smidge small and I cannot return it so Imma make it work. On the 18k unit, to the left I painted the covering a similar green until I figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of the room.
Regarding customer service, yes, its via email and I prepared myself for that. To date, every question has been answered and if its a technical issue, I just ask my HVAC dude. I've managed my expectations.
